Enchanted Rock

Lindsey, Alyssa, and i went to Enchanted Rock in Fredricksburg, TX on Sunday, Jan 30th. Here are some of the pics I took. By the way, this place was waaaaayyy more dangerous that any of us expected. Those straight-drops were crazy.

Booth Results

So I had my first Frost Fest Booth yesterday and it was a good/bad experience that I learned a lot from. It all started the night before when I gathered all my stuff to sell and saw exactly how much I had accumulated... holy crap. I had lots of decoupaged image jars and hand painted snowflake liquid soap dispensers and magnets and all sorts of stuff...

So Lindsey and I drove to the park at 4 pm to set up, which turned out to be a crazy experience. I had to drive over the curb and drive along the cement trail to get to the set up place. I cannot describe how odd it felt driving along the trail, especially when there was this old lady who, instead of being smart and moving OFF the trail, just kept walking and I had to drive a little off the trail so I didn't run her butt over... pretty funny!

Anways, so we got everything set up and my sister joined us and we sat there in the semi-cold and watched as people avoided our eye-contact or smiled and ran for it. LOL it was pretty amusing. My goal yesterday was to make $100 (but my secret goal was to sell it all and make $300, hehe) but my final total was $76 and an ear infection. Yup, an ear infection courtesy of the wind and cold last night. My poor ear... But I am pretty proud of the booth results (aside from the ear thing). And to think, most of that money was from the hand-painted glass penguin magnets that I made as little bonus items for $1. How funny.... Oh well, I plan to sell the rest of the stuff in our etsy store, which Lindsey and I will have up soon. I'll let ya'll know when its up and operational!!! Here are some pics of yesterday as a bonus:

I Bought an SUV

Yes, that's right. I got a new vehicle (actually I got in on April 1st but I've been too lazy to take a pic or blog about it) but I'm super excited and I LOVE it! A 2007 Ford Escape - yes, Ford as in Found On Rose's Driveway! :P

Its wonderful being so high up and its such a smooth ride.... I'll never buy another car again! I'm definitely an SUV chick! More on this later (and pics, I promise!)

Can you believe it...

I was so excited about sending off Meghan's baby gifts that I forgot to take pictures of the stuff... how silly of me.

Flowers at the Library and my house

I know, I know... you're tired of flower pictures - but that's all that I have to take photos of... hopefully a more, uh, active photo project will come my way. Until then it's flowers.

Flowers when you first walk in

These are by the New Books

I love the brilliant colors and abstractness of this photo :)

Maria saw her first patient die right in front of her today (an old lady) so she bought mom flowers and cried in her arms... poor thing.

Another great picture with brilliant colors and zoom of the petals.

And the final pic, a close-up of one of the flowers

The End :)

Spring is in the air...

Ahhhh, what a beautiful day today is. The sun is bright and shinning, the flowers are blooming and all types of little creatures are running everywhere. I went outside with my camera today and found that the pecan tree is my backyard had bloomed its little flowers.

Here's a busy little bee just going about his business.

This tiny flower struck out on its own!

There's a bug hiding in this picture, can you find it? I'll give you a hint: it's in the middle.

I love how this picture turned out! The blurry background of buildings with the flowers in clear focus. Just awesome!

Well, that's it for now. Jeanine is making everyone dinner (calzones, yum yum) and I still gotta figure out what to bring for tonight. See ya!

Nikki's Beret

So here is Nikki's beret. I made it slightly too big but it looked really cute on her. See for yourself:

She's gotten so tall and cute! And she's just as goofy as ever! :)

Some photos

I've always been interested in photography and have been just a tad envious of some people's talents with a camera so I went out into the world and tried my hand at taking some really eye-catching photos. I'm very pleased with what I came up with. I just wish there were more places in nature I could photograph...

Busy Little Bee Lately

Hello! It's been awhile since I've posted anything (worthwhile, lol) but that's because I've been a busy little bee! I've knitted a beret for Ria. Here's how it turned out:

It turned out very well. In fact, it turned out so well that some of my co-workers are paying me to make some for them, yay! I'm currently knitting Nikki's beret with this:

As soon as I finish her beret I'll be taking pics of that as well! Within the next few weeks I'm going to make one for Meagan, Lindsey, and Betty. And I'm gonna try my hand at knitting flowers to decorate my scarfs and regular hats with! Also, I'm almost done with making everyone's fingerless gloves - all I have left is Michele's and then I will have knit 18 pairs. Phew!So that's it for me. What have you been up to? :D

More San Antonio 2 Pics

I haven't posted anything in a while and what I have posted was done on some down time during work. I decided to post some more pics of our trip to San Antonio in January, so here I go:

This is our tour guide for the ghost hunt we took. His pictures actually turned out pretty scary except for this one - his face in ALL of the others was blurred beyond human recognition - creepy.
This is the back part of a cathedral we visited on the ghost hunt. The story goes that there are ashes buried in this wall of people who died in the Battle of the Alamo and that the original plaster started to show faces coming through it. Lindsey said that she did this tour a couple of years ago when the orignial plaster was still on and that you could see every detail of each face. The put on a new coat of plaster and now some faces are once again starting to show through. I can see three faces in this, one on each side and then one huge one in the middle that looks like the face of s very sad man...

This is a small part of the lobby of the Menger Hotel. It was beautiful inside!

Another small part of the hotel hallways. It was nighttime when I took this so all the lights are on.

This is the first picture I took when we got to our hotel rooms. Some weird light thingie is cutting off parts of everyone... but it's probably just my camera...

Betty smokin' it up in the Mexican Marketplace with El Jefe!

We stopped in the gazebo after we did the ghost tour and everyone gathered in for a picture! :)

We had a crazy-wonderful dinner at the Magic Time Machine. Super Mario was our waiter and he was fantastic! Itssame Mariooo! By the way, he loved Lindsey's mustahce necklace!

We had a wonderful time! I can't wait to see what happen in Jefferson, Texas!!! :) I'll keep ya'll posted!
