End of the Summer Reading Club Program - Welcome Home

Well, the last program for our summer reading club was yesterday and it was quite an exhausting event! But it was a lot of fun - and really, really hot outside!!! Here are just a few pics:

RIP Molly

Well, Molly the fish is no longer with us. She got sucked in (once again) to the filter and she died of her injuries. So Ria sent her off in the trans-toilet to Fishy Heaven. Rest In Peace Molly, we miss you...

In other news, today was a pretty trying day - I'm just glad it's almost over! When I get home I'm going straight to my peppermint tea! :l

YA Wall

Here are a few pictures of the YA Wall - I went with a Winter Blast theme and used painted paper snowflakes with pretty glitter (which you can't see in the pics, boo...)

The Grinch's Lair

Today I spent a good part of 2 1/2 hours creating the Grinch's lair - I used black construction paper, white felt, glitter, and what could possibly be an illegal amount of tape on one structure. I covered are wooden playhouse set and turned it into this:

Though I did cut off that one large snow/icicle thingie to it matched the others going across the top. All I have left to do is make some Grinchy signs and do the auditions in half an hour and I should be okay for the rehersals next week. Wish me luck!!

I've been busy

doing nothing.... Yup, nothing at all but worrying about this play I'm setting up with the teens, getting everything ready for the Halloween Hoopla, making packets, sending off emails, getting press releases together, gathering up my United Way donation items, planning Monday's movie, and a whole buncha stuff for work.

Yes, I am extremely tired. And I have 2 (2!) dentists appts this week to almost finish up all my dental work... Ugh.

Anyways, this weeked was chock full of stuff I had to do (some happily, some not). I had to work on Friday, dinner at Jeanine's Friday night, the Halloween Hoopla thing on Saturday evening, then a movie and pizza at Betty's and Billy's on Saturday night, and Sunday I went to WalMart with Tyran and had dinner with her... man, I'm beat!

And it's lunch time and I'm hungry :(

Today is cold and rainy and reminds me of winter. Winter reminds me of December. December reminds me of Christmas. Christmas reminds me of Jesus and cookies (an odd combination, I know...)! So I made a sign during my spare time at work:

Today was a good day (and it's not even over yet)

Today I found out that my best friend Tyran got a full-time job! I'm soooo happy for her. She's been wanting to move out lately and this job will be the final step to becoming fully independent!!!

Also, I found out that my dental insurance will cover my second root canal - so I'm stoked about that! Man, who knew root canals were so expensive. Plus, I needed both root canals done one right after the other... stupid dentist and tooth trauma and tooth decay... grrrr.

Anyways, I'm just glad I can save money by using my dental ins! Thank God for job benefits!!!

Oh, and I finally knitted a kid's hat. Yes, I cheated and used my circular knitting loom (because I hate dpns and circular needles). But my hat is soooooo CUTE!!!! Its a strawberry, complete with seeds and a green stem!! I'll post a pic of it tonight! See ya!

AT Work Today...

I was creating ideas for my teen wall at the library today and this is what I came up with for the months of October and December.

Summer Fun at the Library

Today was the last day for our Summer Activities at the library! Whew, the summer is almost over. So we did a Watermelon Festival and here are some pictures of it:

So we had a watermelon carving contest between staff members. Lindsey got 3rd for her shark, Meghan got 2nd for her dino and I got 1st place for my crab! I was so surprised and happy!

I loved Lindsey's the best, it was cute beyond belief!!!

Why is it Monday already?

Whew! Everything's been so crazy - where has my weekend gone? It sucks having to work Friday and Saturday because I feel like my weekend just passes me by. But that's okay because I'm off this Friday - Sunday and I'm not going to do anything but attempt socks using 4 dpns and not 5.

I never would have imagined that 5 dpns at one time could be so tricky to hold. So I will start small and work my way up to the 5 dpns later...
